-o- All rules & regulation as governed by ICC including LBW, Free Hit, Field Restrictions. Exceptions if any are mentioned below.

-o- If either of the umpires believes that a team is wasting time/using foul language for the opponent team or even in their own team or over sledging, he can award a five-run penalty, at his own discretion. However, if it happens, thrice in the same match by a team, the opponent shall be declared winner. 

-o- The interval lasts for 10 minutes & 5 minutes drinks break shall be granted in each innings between 8-10 Overs deepening on the request of either of the team or the decision of the umpires. 

-o- A match shall be deemed to have been played if and only if, each of the two teams has faced (or had the opportunity to face) five Overs.

-o- In case of tie in points at the league stage, the team having the best run rate shall qualify to the semi-finals. To calculate a team's net run rate, the average runs per over scored by that team is deducted from the average runs per over scored against it.

*****Field Restrictions*****

-o- At the most, five fielders can be on the leg side, at any given point of time.

-o- For 20-20 Overs matches, the following field restriction shall applu

-o- In the first 6 Overs, there cannot be more than two fielders outside the 30-Yard Circle 

-o- There can be a maximum of five fielders outside the fielding circle, after the first six overs end.

-o- For 15-15 Overs matches, the following field restriction shall applu

-o- In the first 4 Overs, there cannot be more than two fielders outside the 30-Yard Circle 

-o- There can be a maximum of five fielders outside the fielding circle, after the first four overs end.

-o- The following shall be the time limit for completion of innings:

-o- 20 overs: 85 Minutes (+5 Minutes extra time) 

-o- 15 Overs: 60 minutes (+5 Minutes extra time) 

-o- If it fails to do so, extra six runs will be added to the batting team's score, for every whole over bowled after the expected minute-mark. In case the umpire believes that the batting team or some situation issue is wasting time, he may, 5 minutes extra as stated above.

*****Tie Deciders*****

Tie is broken with a one over per side Eliminator or Super Over. The captain of the two teams nominates three batsmen and one bowler, to play a one-over per side, which can be termed as mini-match. If a team loses two wickets before the over is complete, it loses the game. If this does not happen, the team with the higher score from its over wins it. In case there is a tie after the mini-match as well, the team that has higher number of sixes in its full innings, or in the One1, will be declared the winner. If, by any chance, there is still a tie, the winning team is the one with the higher number of fours in both innings.

-o-  The maximum team limit is 10 players and a coach.

-o-  A team member is entitled to play when his name has been entered on the score-sheet before the start of the game and as long as he has neither been disqualified nor committed five (5) fouls.

-o-  Any equipment that is designed to increase a player's height or reach or in any other way give an unfair advantage is not permitted. Also the equipment that can harm the other players is also not allowed.

-o-  The captain shall, immediately at the end of the game, inform the referee if his team is protesting against the result of the game and sign the score sheet in the space marked "Captain's signature" in case of protest.

-o-  The game shall consist of four periods of ten minutes. 

-o-  There shall be intervals of play of two minutes between the first and second period (first half), between the third and fourth period and before each extra period.

-o-  There shall be a half-time interval of play of five minutes.

-o-  If the score is tied at the end of playing time for the fourth period, the game shall continue with as many extra periods of five minutes as is necessary to break the tie.

-o-  If a foul is committed when or just before the game clock signal sounds for the end of playing time, any eventual free throw(s) shall be administered after the end of playing time.

-o-  If an extra period is required as a result of this free throw(s) then all fouls that are committed after the end of playing time shall be considered to have occurred during an interval of play and the free throws shall be administered before the beginning of the extra period.

-o-  Match starts with a jump ball, players of same team may not occupy adjacent positions if the opponent wishes to occupy one of those positions. Jump ball may be cancelled and redone if the referee finds it not correct.

-o-  Alternating possession procedure in all jump ball situations except in the beginning, the teams will get alternate possession of the ball for a throw in.

-o-  The ball is played with hand(s) only can be passed, tapped, dribbled, rolled in any direction subject to the restriction of some rules.

-o-  A player shall not run with the ball, deliberately kick or block it with any part of the leg or strike it with the fist, however if the touch with any part of body is accidental then it may not be given as a violation.

-o-  A goal is made when a live ball enters the basket from above and remains within or passes through the basket. The ball is considered to be within the basket when the slightest part of the ball is within and below the level of the ring.

-o-  Free Throw-1 pt., field goal from 2 pt field goal area-2 pts, field goal from 3 pt field goal area-3 pts.

-o-  A player taking a throw in shall not take more than 5 seconds and shall not cross or touch the boundary lines before making the pass.

-o-  Each time-out shall last one minute. A time-out may be granted during a time-out opportunity i.e ball is not in motion.

-o-  A time-out opportunity ends when the ball is at the disposal of a player for a throw-in or for a first or only free throw.

-o-  Two time-outs may be granted to each team at any time during the first half; three at any time during the second half and one during each extra period. Unused time-outs may not be carried over to the next half or extra period.

-o-  A time-out shall not be permitted to the scoring team when the game clock shows 2:00 minutes or less of the fourth period and of each extra period and, following a successful field goal unless an official has stopped the game.

-o-  Before the start of each set the coach or the captain in case of the coach's absence has to present the starting line-up of his/her team on a line up sheet.

-o-  Once the line-up sheet has been submitted no changes can be made without a regular substitution.

-o-  If two or more faults are committed successively only the first one is considered.

-o-  If faults are committed by both the teams simultaneously then the point becomes void i.e., it is a common point.

-o-  Each team can request a maximum of 2 time-outs and 6 substitutions per set.

-o-  There must be a completed rally between two separate substitution requests by the same team.

-o-  Time-out requests must be made by showing the corresponding hand signal, when the ball is out of play and before the whistle for service.

-o-  All requested time-outs last for 30 seconds.

ROTATION

-o-  Rotation is compulsory in the game.

-o-  Rotation faults will be penalized.

BASIC VIOLATIONS

-o-  Stepping on or over the line on a serve.

-o-  Failure to serve the ball over the net successfully.

-o-  Hitting the ball illegally (Carrying, Palming, Throwing, etc.).

-o-  Touches of the net with any part of the body while the ball is in play. If the ball is driven into the net with such force that it causes the net to contact an opposing player, no foul will be called, and the ball shall continue to be in play.

-o-  Reaching over the net, except under these conditions:

-o-  When executing a follow-through.

-o-  When blocking a ball which is in the opponents' court but is being returned (the blocker must not contact the ball until after the opponent who is attempting to return the ball makes contact) except to block the third play.

-o-  Reaches under the net (if it interferes with the ball or opposing player).

-o-  Failure to serve in the correct order.

CONDUCT:

-o-  Participants must know the "Official Volleyball Rules" and abide by them.

-o-  Participants must accept referees' decisions with sportsmanlike conduct, without disputing them.

-o-  In case of doubt, clarification may be requested only through the game captain.

-o-  Participants must refrain from actions or attitudes aimed at influencing the decisions of the referees or covering up faults committed by their Team.

FAIR PLAY

-o-  Participants must behave respectfully and courteously in the spirit of fair play, not only towards the referees, but also towards other Officials, opponents, team-mates and spectators.

-o-  If found guilty of actions which are unsportsmanlike then action will be taken according to the gravity of the situation which may range from a mere warning to expulsion from the game.

-o-  The decision of the referee is final and he/she will take into consideration the judgment of the linesmen.

-o-  All the above rules are subjected to change under certain unavoidable circumstances. This may be carried out by the coordinators (volleyball), event executive (volleyball), or head events.

-o-  Rules are on the same lines of FIVB and Decision of the referees is final.

-o- A maximum of two players can register for the men's and women's teams respectively.

-o- Each team match consists of five individual matches: 3 singles & two doubles and shall end when one team has won a majority of the possible individual matches. 

-o- Firstly, three single matches shall be played followed by double matches. 

-o- Each of the team captains shall nominate their players as 1, 2 & 3. 

-o- The captain of the teams shall decide the team combination, however all three players must be involved in either of two matches. 

-o- The referee shall have power to disqualify a player from a match, a team match, an event or a competition for seriously unfair or offensive behavior.

-o- If a player is disqualified from 2 matches of the team event, he or she shall automatically be disqualified from that team event.

-o- The team will lose that match by forfeit (the team match by 2-0, each match by 2-0 and each game by 11-0). The opposing team will advance to the next round.

-o- Any markings or trimming on the front or side of a playing garment and any objects such as jewelry worn by a player shall not be so conspicuous or brightly reflecting as to unsighted an opponent.

-o- The game is going to be played between 2 players from different teams. 

-o- The sequence of the matches and which team shall play against which team shall be decided by random lucky draw at the discretion of the organizing University. 

-o- Each team consists of 5 players. 

-o- All the team members must belong to the same Institute. 

-o- If a player from Team A wins against a player from Team B, then he gets 10 point for his team and if they end in a draw, both the players get 5 points for their team, to be added into the round points of the team.
